I wanted to start to work on more of the actual lore now that I have a bit of the story board and pre-vis in a nice place.
There are missions in the game the require you to go into research facilities and testing stations in different systems of the game where you explore and discover information on a company that is doing cruel experiments to try and fix the 'regen crisis' in which all of the regen med beds are failing (how the player respawns). I want the main character to be on the other side of this story, doing dodgy contracts with big pay outs for these big corporations and then discovering his old bodies and remembering bits of important information each time.
I also want to add bits of fan service into the story as well, for example I'm thinking of changing the ship the main character fly's to a ship called the Polaris, in the game a lot of people tend to fly this ship solo which doesn't make much sense generally as it is a giant ship made for a crew of 6-12 people. I was also thinking when the character hiding on the ship attacks, I animate it similar to the stealth attack in the game but instead of it just knocking the character out the main character would break out of it and a fight would break out.
I have also started to break up one of the fighter ships and adding some temporary materials on them to get some test shots to see what the shots might look like but its taking such a long time to split everything up, I'm going to have to do a lot more research into star citizen assets to try and get some broken down or some with existing textures etc as I feel it would take a long time to do everything. Hopefully I can get substance painter sorted out which could help a lot.
