After creating the initial movement of the ship I started looking at a series of videos from CG spectrum on a spaceship raising out of water as I haven't used Houdini in over 3 years so I'm a bit rusty. After following a long for the first video or two I ended up with this result (below.) There are a lot of things I have changed though as in the tutorials he has used time shift to freeze the ship and then used the same transform nodes that were used to lift the ship added onto the end of the simulations to speed everything up.
I did initially try this but isn't going to work in my case as I have added a lot of rotation and there's a lot more variation to my ships transform/s that will make the simulation rotate. now thinking of it, I could have done this and tried to add another gravity after but I don't think there are any gravity nodes outside the dop-nets.
I have now added Streams, Foam and the Flip Simulation of the water from the rising ship. I'm currently working on some Mist and some extra Streams inside the Mist all using the same Pop-net from the initial Streams I've made.
I've also been having some problems whilst flip booking, It might be because I'm using a commercial version of Houdini but I doubt that is the problem so I'm going to look into that further.
Currently I'm waiting to cache out the Mist and will try to flip book everything out together to see how it looks. I have done a couple of the cache's in the background and I'm not sure if they are supposed to stay the way the look and not go back to how the file cache normally looks but the one I have done I don't think work properly, so I'm just going to cache everything out how I'm used to doing it.
