Lazarus - Development - 001

Starting my Masters degree in Animation I have decided to develop an idea I have already had in the past. I started creating fluid simulations to refresh my knowledge in Houdini. I had a basic idea of a shot I wanted but didn't think too much of the actual concept but focused on the simulation now and then over a couple months. Now that I'm going to be continuing it for my degree I have had a lot more time to think about the actual story and the lore behind the shot.

I am going to be creating the short based on the video game Star Citizen, I already knew I wanted to use this game for the world and lore of the short which can help in the pipeline as I can hopefully source assets from the game itself and maybe alter some of them to make the characters/ships more personal to the short.

The first thing I wanted to do was create a quick story board of the idea I have in my head which I'm most likely going to continue to change over time to flesh it out more and make it more cohesive.

Here is the first story board I have created which I can already find some spots that id want to focus on a bit more.

Obviously its not completely done but I created this first storyboard to fill in the gaps so that the ship rising out of the water scene actually makes sense and has reason behind what's happening. I know I want there to be someone on the ship that interferes and attacks the main character in someway, maybe turning the quantum jump off so he has to go investigate what's wrong with the ship giving the character hiding on the ship a chance to attack.
