Animation Application - Lazarus - 010

I also tried messing around with the VDB's as I want more coverage but I also don't want to use up too much memory when rendering. I've been looking for something I used to use in Octane which would make it so objects are only showed if the camera can see it, which would help with optimisation. Unfortunately I was only able to find something to do with LOD's and I don't have any other LOD's of these VDB's. I did originally just hand place all of the VDB's but instead now I am using a cloner with a noise attached with a shader field to make the formation of the clouds a bit more natural. After making sure there was enough clouds in the scene but as little as possible outside the frame so I don't clog up the render times.

Just so I have a bit more control over the look later on in post I have used a couple AOV's like reflection, refraction, specular, depth and a crypto matte. The first 3 are just to play around with the lighting but the depth map I could use if I wanted to add a bit of fog or depth of field later on if I change my mind and the crypto matte will help me save time If I needed to edit any specific object so I don't have to roto anything. I added a RS object tag onto a couple different objects in the scene and gave them all different object ID's so the crypto matte knows which each object I want. I put the Object tag on the character a separate one on the visor of the character, one on the ship and one on the moon. As I am using more than 2 AOV's I'm going to have to change file type to exr so I can use a multi pass which is going to increase render time a bit but it will be worth it as I will have a lot more control over the footage.
