After rendering all of the pre-vis out I started to mess around with some sound effects. I added some flood light sound effect to the shot of the lights coming on of the ship underwater. I started looking for ship noises and then got kind of side tracked and got back to work on trying to extract and convert the game files so I could use the 3D objects/textures etc but most importantly I was thinking about the sounds from the game which I could use for the pre-vis and the final shots.
I tried starfab again which I had tried a couple times over the last couple of months, Again it just got stuck on "Processing DataCore - 0 / 2 - 0%" so at the moment I'm going to try looking for a different way.

After like a whole week of trying different things I think I have made some progress finally. I found a tool called "unp4k-suite-v3.13.66" which I could drag the "Data.p4k" onto the exe. and it will unpack all of the files into the local folder of star citizen. Although I have now got a lot of the assets, a lot of the obj's etc like ships and armour aren't in a usable state and need to be converted into something I can use.

I was however able to access the audio files although they are not categorized, so I am not able to see what the audio file is, I am just able to listen to it and extract it. I did this using a software called "Foobar" with a plugin called "VGM-Stream". I was able to import a load of files at a time listen to them and try and note down the different kinds of sounds I get.

Although this is a good start it is going to be very hard as there are millions of different files so I will never be able to go through them all. I made do with what I had though and added some of the sounds I got to the pre-vis.
